Will the reticulation pipes get blocked in few years? - The most commonly asked question for Preventive Anti-termite Retic

When it comes to Anti-termite Reticulation - preventive anti-termite method; very often architects, end-users, and at times even pest control service providers ask:

Will the pipes block, bend, squeeze or erode in 3-4 years? Such a doubts lead to a perception that the system will not work in the long run and hence there is no point in installing this system.

This may have been the case in the initial years when the system was newly introduced in India, due to many reasons. Let us understand the major reasons why such myth got prevalent.

      (1)   INAPPROPRIATE MATERIAL & PIPE THICKNESS

Compared to the west, this system is relatively new to India. It was introduced in India about 20/22 years ago. Back then, the practice was to install any irrigation pipe or any plastic pipe for the purpose. All those materials were for use above ground. They did not have the weight bearing capacity, highly required in anti-termite reticulation pipes. Hence they would squeeze under pressure and the system would not give the desired results.

However, TermiPore, in use since almost 17 years; has conducted intensive research in this filed. TermiPore is made of specially developed elastomeric raw material compound. Their raw material is best suited for underground installation. It does not erode over time, or get squeezed under pressure. It is long lasting and has a life of 50 years or more. Furthermore, TermiPore is the only pipe that is lab-tested to corroborate these facts.

Often, thin pipes with thin walls are installed. This too is not suitable for underground installation. Such  pipes get squeezed under weight or at corners during installation. TermiPore offers pipes in various sizes with high wall thickness. TermiPore Anti-termite Reticulation Pipes do not bend or squeeze with weight or at corners.

(1)                                 PIPE DESIGN

Back then, the pipe design was not that efficient. There were holes on one side of the pipe, mostly at a distance of 1 feet. So even if one hole got blocked, the medicine would not reach an area of 2 feet!! That can be quite a disastrous.

Based on research and development, TermiPore has specially developed a honeycomb design, with pressure operated holes all along the length and all along the circumference of the pipe. There are about a 100 microholes in one feet. So even if some holes do get block, it will not affect the performance, as there are far too many pressure operated micro holes in all directions, throughout the pipe. Thus, along with durability, TermiPore also offers a consistent flow rate, in comparison to other pipes

(a)    (a)  The pipes should not be in direct touch with wet cement. Install it in sand and cover it with sand

(b)

(b) Do not bend it at sharp point. Install it with a slight curve or use jointers and ties.

(c)  Install junction boxes at required intervals

       (d)  View installation videos on our website, social media handles or

      (e) You can also contact us. TermiPore offers technical guidance and training for installation of TermiPore Reticulation Pipes. TermiPore also offers technical support in terms of installation layout. Not just that, TermiPore also provides all the necessary accessories for installation.

Thus TermiPore is a Comprehensive Reticulation System, Not Just Pipes!

(4)  QUALITY

This is a one-time installation only and quality is of utmost importance. TermiPore is manufactured by a company that is more than 50 years old and it has ISO 9001: 2015 Certification. Brand TermiPore, in use since more than 15 years, assures best quality, consistently. We have a stringent quality control system in place. Every roll of TermiPore is checked for 9 quality parameters and the flow rate is mentioned on each roll.
